Back-to-Back Heists Raise Alarm in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur — Jharkhand’s steel city is reeling under shock after two major robberies in as many days.

On Thursday, businessman Saket Agrawal was attacked near Bistupur Gurudwara while carrying ₹30 lakh to the bank. The robbers blinded him with chilli powder, grabbed his bag of cash, and fired shots before fleeing in an SUV. Agrawal narrowly escaped serious harm.

The brazen incident took place barely a day after six men posing as customers stormed into Vardhman Jewellers in Sonari, where they looted ornaments worth lakhs and injured shop owner Pankaj Jain with a pistol butt. The gang also fired several rounds before fleeing.

The consecutive robberies, both in crowded areas, have alarmed residents and the business community. Many traders gathered at the crime scene, demanding swift police action. While investigations are on, locals say fear is spreading fast in Jamshedpur.
