Ranchi The Prevention of Money Laundering Act special court sent IAS officer and Jharkhand’s social welfare director Chhavi Ranjan to Birsa Munda Central Jail.
The action was taken after the Directorate of Enforcement team produced the officer before the special court after his proper medical examination by doctors of Sadar Hospital and getting a favourable report of his health condition.
The 2011 batch IAS officer landed in trouble due to his act and omissions while working as Ranchi deputy commissioner. He was arrested at 9.55 pm on Thursday after a lengthy questioning started from 9.40 am.
ED officials took action after they concluded that the IAS officer masterminded a land scam in Ranchi using his official position and influence.
