Chaibasa: An area commander of the CPI Maoists surrendered before the senior police and paramilitary officers in the West Singhbhum district of the state.
The area commander Kuldeep alias Kuldeep Ganjhu alias Tuilu was active in the ranks of the Maoists for 12 years. He was a key member of the Maoist squad led by Central Committee Member Mihir Besra alias Sagar Ji and is also someone who is well aware of the difficult terrains of the Kolhan and Podahaat regions which is considered to be a safe zone for the Maoists.
Police said that fed up with continuous exploitation within the ranks of the Maoists and attracted by the surrender and rehabilitation policy of the state government he had decided to give up arms and join the mainstream of life which will also enable him to spend time with his family.
