Mumbai — Actress Alisha Panwar has spoken candidly about her journey while working on Shagun Mein Dhoka, describing how the emotionally charged narrative gave her a chance to explore the raw anguish of love, betrayal, and broken trust.
In an exclusive conversation with IANS, Alisha revealed that embodying such layered emotions on screen was both creatively fulfilling and emotionally draining. The story, she said, resonates deeply because it mirrors the vulnerability of human relationships — how they can be beautiful and fragile at once, and how a single act of deceit can shatter the foundation of love.
Reflecting on her role, the actress shared, “In this series, I got to wear a stunning wedding saree, which I absolutely adored — though I must admit, the makeup sessions were quite long. I had always imagined what my bridal look would be like, and seeing it come alive on set felt surreal.”
She went on to express how certain scenes left her truly moved. “I felt deeply emotional while filming those sequences. Marriage, to me, is one of the purest bonds — built entirely on love and faith. Watching that trust break, even on screen, was heartbreaking. It’s never right to betray someone who loves you with all their heart. I sincerely hope no one has to endure that kind of pain in real life.”
Shagun Mein Dhoka forms a gripping part of Hungama OTT’s anthology series Dirty Scams, which unfolds through standalone stories of bold, sharp, and daring women who master the art of the con — blending charm, deception, and drama in equal measure. In this particular episode, Alisha steps into the role of Maya, a mesmerizing yet calculating bride whose story of love and deceit takes viewers on an emotional rollercoaster, blurring the lines between innocence and manipulation.
The anthology Dirty Scams began streaming on Hungama OTT with its first two episodes, Ishq Parlour and Aashram, on October 30. The next pair of tales, Shagun Mein Dhoka and Deemak, premiered on November 6, while the concluding story, Right Swipe, is set to release on November 13 — rounding off the series with a compelling finale that promises to leave audiences hooked till the very end.
