Ranchi: All India Majlise- Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) national president Asaduddin Owaisi reached Ranchi on Sunday. Workers associated with the party were present at Birsa Munda Airport to welcome him. However, as soon as the party supremo Owaisi came out of the airport the workers welcomed him with flowers. In the meantime, slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ were also raised. Owaisi left for the Chanho to address the Mandar bye-election meeting directly from the airport.
Before leaving for Mandar, Owaisi addressed the media present at the airport and said that he was here to meet the families that had lost their children in the violence of June 10. However, the state government did not allow him to meet the families. In such a situation, he will be going to attend the public meeting being held for the election in Mandar.
The AIMIM president Owaisi had reached Ranchi to campaign for independent candidate Dev Kumar Dhan in the bye-elections for the Mandar assembly seat of Jharkhand’s capital. The administration had made special security arrangements in Mandar in view of Owaisi’s election meeting.
Dev Kumar Dhan was a candidate in the 2019 elections and was given a ticket instead of the party’s sitting MLA Gangotri Kujur, however, Bandhu Tirkey had then defeated Kumar. Tirkey’s legislature ended after he was held guilty in a DA case Tirkey has fielded his daughter Shilpa Neha Tirkey from the Congress quota for the election.
