Additional 10,000 jawans deployed for maintaining law & order during Ramnavmi, senior IPS officers positioned in districts

Ranchi: Jharkhand Police has made elaborate arrangements for maintaining law and order during the festival of Ramnavmi as part of which it has been decided to depute additional police jawans across the state.

Officials at the state police headquarters said that inputs have been received that some anti-social elements might get inside the procession and damage the communal harmony in the state. Further in advance, the police are trying to identify and catch such elements. Moreover, this time around five companies of the CRPF will also be deployed in sensitive districts of the state.

An additional 25 DSPs, 10 Inspectors, 50 Sub Inspectors and 190 Assistant Sub Inspectors are being also deputed across the state. Apart from the RPF, a company of the ATS, dog squad, Vajra vehicles and fire tenders have been also positioned while 5,000 jawans of home guards have been deputed in the districts.

In the first of its kind initiative, senior IPS officers have been deputed in important districts of the state. For example, in Hazaribagh, an ADG rank officer will be in charge who will be assisted by a DIG and an additional SP while in Jamshedpur apart from IG Human Rights to Additional SP rank officials have been pressed into service to maintain law and order.

In Lohardaga also a DIG rank officer and an Additional SP have been deputed to ensure that no untoward incident happens during Ramnavmi. Following police officers have been deputed in key districts:
