Ranchi: On the instructions of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the Abua Bir Dishom campaign will be launched from 06 November 2023.
Under this, for the first time in the state, under a comprehensive campaign, individual, community and community forest resource forest rights lease will be provided to tribals and people dependent on forests.
On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, more than 30 thousand Gram Sabhas of the state participated and took oath to make dedicated and organized efforts to protect water, forest and land and its resources.
Using the powers given by the Forest Rights Act, 2006, Forest Rights Committee has been constituted and reconstituted at village, sub-division and district level from 03 October 2023 to 18 October 2023.
This committee will make recommendations as per rules on the claims of forest dependent people and communities for granting them forest rights pattas.
Besides, for the successful implementation of Abua Bir Dishom Abhiyan, a mobile application and website have also been prepared through which individual, community and community forest resource forest rights leases can be provided to the tribals and people dependent on forests.
The campaign to provide forest lease by the government to the people identified by the Forest Rights Committee will be conducted in the first phase till December 2023.
Abua Bir Dishom campaign will start with a state level training cum workshop on 06 November.
Under this, training will be given to Deputy Commissioners and Forest Division officers of all the districts under Jharkhand state.
Besides, members of village level Forest Rights Committee, sub-division level committee and district level Forest Rights Committee will be provided training for the successful execution of the campaign.
To ensure that the maximum number of people get the benefit of this campaign, its publicity will be accelerated through various mediums.
