Ranchi: There was a stir late at night in the under-construction lighthouse project of a residential colony being built for the poor in Jagannathpur of the capital Ranchi. Part of an 8-story building of the lighthouse collapsed. Although there was no casualty in this incident, the sound was so loud that the whole area trembled.
In the morning the entire area was cordoned off and people were not allowed to go there. The broken part has been hidden by cloth. The construction work goes on day and night. The local people have raised questions about the quality of its construction. The contract for this project has been given to Magicrete LLP, which is constructing 1008 flats.
The Jharkhand Light House Project was inaugurated on January 1, 2021, by PM Narendra Modi. This project has been brought with the aim of providing houses to economically weak landless families. It was claimed that this lighthouse would be a strong pucca house and would be earthquake resistant. The lighthouse project is also running in 5 other cities of the country namely Indore, Chennai, Rajkot, Agartala and Lucknow.
