Manish Malhotra Calls Designing Kiara Advani’s ‘Toxic’ Looks a ‘Fabulous Journey’

Mumbai: Fashion designer Manish Malhotra has opened up about his experience of creating Kiara Advani’s costumes for her character Nadia in the upcoming action thriller “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups”, describing the collaboration as a memorable and “fabulous journey”.

The designer recently shared a glimpse of Kiara in a striking black velvet lace saree and reflected on his association with the film, which began during its first schedule in Bengaluru and continued through the Mumbai leg of the shoot.

Calling Kiara “ravishing” in the classic saree, Manish said designing her looks for the character had been a special experience. He added that working on the film was something the entire team would look back on fondly.

Kiara, meanwhile, also shared moments from her visit to Hyderabad as part of the promotional campaign for “Toxic”. Expressing gratitude for the warm response from the city, the actress said the energy and enthusiasm surrounding the film had made the promotional journey memorable.

She also thanked Manish Malhotra for creating her saree and for bringing his signature style to Nadia’s costumes.

The black saree look featured delicate velvet lace detailing and was complemented by statement earrings. Kiara kept the styling elegant and understated, opting for a sleek high bun and subtle makeup that allowed the outfit to remain the centre of attention.

The collaboration between Malhotra and the film’s creative team appears to be an important part of establishing Nadia’s visual identity. Through the costumes, the character’s style is being shaped alongside the film’s larger world of action, drama and fantasy.

“Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups”, directed by Geetu Mohandas, stars Yash in a dual role, with Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth in key roles.

The film is scheduled to release in theatres on August 26, 2026.
