Ranchi — Chota Nagpur Royals and Ranchi Titans registered convincing victories on Day 2 of the Jharkhand T20 Cricket League 2026 at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on Thursday.
The Royals produced a dominant performance in a rain-affected contest, securing a 10-wicket victory over Dhanbad Diamonds via the DLS method, while the Titans successfully defended a mammoth total to defeat Santhal Strikers by 42 runs.
In the day’s opening match, Dhanbad Diamonds reached 63/2 in seven overs before rain interrupted play. Aryaman Sen anchored the innings with an unbeaten 31 off 20 deliveries, while Aditya Singh remained not out on 24 from 16 balls. Ritwik M. Pathak and Suprieyo Chakraborty claimed a wicket each for the Royals.
After the rain delay, Chota Nagpur Royals were assigned a revised target of 65 runs in five overs under the DLS method. Openers Virat Singh and MD Nazim Siddiqui made light work of the chase, powering their side to 65 without loss in just 4.2 overs. Virat starred with an unbeaten 38 off 15 balls, while Nazim contributed 23 not out from 11 deliveries.
Virat Singh was named Player of the Match for his match-winning knock.
The second game witnessed a batting spectacle as Ranchi Titans piled up an imposing 227/5 after being asked to bat first. Openers Shikhar Mohan and Aryan Hudda laid the foundation with a rapid 93-run partnership in just 7.4 overs. Hudda smashed 40 off 16 balls before departing, while Shikhar went on to play a sensational innings of 90 from 48 deliveries.
Shrestha further boosted the total with a quickfire 57 off 31 balls, and captain Rajandeep Singh chipped in with a useful 21 from 12 balls during the closing stages.
In reply, Santhal Strikers struggled to keep pace with the steep required rate despite useful contributions from Vibhor Pandey (26) and Vivek Kumar (10). A fighting unbeaten partnership of 71 runs for the seventh wicket between Sumit Kumar and Ravi Kumar Yadav kept hopes alive briefly. Sumit remained unbeaten on 67, but the Strikers eventually finished on 185/6 in their 20 overs.
Prince Anurag Murmu was the standout bowler for Ranchi Titans, returning impressive figures of 3/26 to help seal a comfortable 42-run victory.
With two commanding performances, Chota Nagpur Royals and Ranchi Titans continued their strong start to the Jharkhand T20 League, showcasing both explosive batting and disciplined bowling on an action-packed day in Ranchi.
