Indian Mountaineer Shradha Gupta Pushes Towards Everest Summit After Historic Manaslu Achievement

New Delhi: Indian mountaineer Shradha Gupta is currently on her Mount Everest expedition, adding another major chapter to her rapidly rising journey in high-altitude mountaineering after successfully summiting Mount Manaslu, the world’s eighth-highest mountain.

Shradha successfully reached the summit of Manaslu, standing at 8,163 metres, on September 26, 2025, at 8:06 a.m. She completed the climb alongside renowned guide Tenji Sherpa as part of Elite Exped led by celebrated climber Nirmal Purja.

Mount Manaslu is among the legendary 14 peaks above 8,000 metres and lies within the extreme high-altitude “death zone,” where oxygen levels are dangerously low and weather conditions remain extremely harsh.

Her successful ascent of Manaslu marked her first summit above 8,000 metres and highlighted her rapid progression from recreational trekking to elite endurance mountaineering.

From Recreational Hiking to Global Peaks

In just three years, Shradha Gupta has already climbed three of the famed Seven Summits — Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Elbrus and Aconcagua. She has also completed the Everest Base Camp trek.

Her journey is being seen as an inspiring example of determination and discipline, especially because she entered the world of high-altitude climbing only after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Based in Dubai, Shradha currently heads Corporate Business for the Middle East at DBS Bank. According to reports, she rediscovered her passion for hiking in the UAE after the pandemic, which eventually led her into professional mountaineering.

As she now pushes toward the summit of Mount Everest, her story continues to inspire aspiring climbers and working professionals, proving that passion and perseverance can break barriers regardless of when the journey begins.
