Deogarh: The Bharatiya Janata Party organized a massive “Aakrosh Rally” in Deoghar on Tuesday to protest against the alleged anti-public policies of the Jharkhand Government led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The rally, which began from Shivlok Complex and marched towards the Collectorate, witnessed the participation of thousands of BJP workers and supporters.
During the protest march, party workers raised slogans against the state government and highlighted several public issues affecting people across Jharkhand. The rally was led by BJP district president Sachin Rawani and attended by BJP state minister Ganesh Mishra, former minister Randhir Singh, former MLA Narayan Das, along with a large number of party workers.
Addressing the gathering, Ganesh Mishra alleged that unemployment has risen sharply in the state and accused the government of failing to provide jobs to the youth. He also claimed that repeated examination paper leaks have pushed the future of students and job aspirants into uncertainty.
Former minister Randhir Singh launched a strong attack on the Hemant Soren government, saying that the promises made before coming to power had turned out to be mere election slogans. He alleged that both urban and rural areas are suffering from frequent power cuts and claimed that the government had failed to fulfill its promise of providing 200 units of free electricity.
He further accused the administration of harassing farmers in the name of electricity theft by imposing heavy fines. Raising concerns over sand availability, Singh claimed that poor families are struggling to get sand for houses under the Prime Minister Housing Scheme as well as for personal construction work. He alleged that tractor owners are being penalized with fines ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 5 lakh.
Randhir Singh also claimed that work under the Jal Jeevan Mission has slowed down significantly and accused the PHED department of corruption. According to him, many hand pumps in villages have become non-functional, causing severe drinking water problems in rural areas.
Former MLA Narayan Das warned that if the government failed to improve its functioning, the people of Jharkhand would remove it from power in the upcoming elections.
At the end of the rally, a BJP delegation submitted a memorandum addressed to the Governor through the Deputy Commissioner. The memorandum demanded solutions to the issues faced by para teachers, Anganwadi workers, Home Guards, and MGNREGA employees.
