Urvashi Rautela Says ‘Inspector Avinash 2’ Showcases Silent Strength and Survival

Mumbai: Actress Urvashi Rautela says her character Poonam Mishra in the second season of the action-crime series Inspector Avinash is deeply shaped by “survival wrapped in silence.”

Speaking about her role, Urvashi shared that while crime dramas are often remembered for violence and action, there is also an emotional struggle hidden beneath the surface.

“The most powerful emotion driving my character this season is survival wrapped in silence,” she said.

According to the actress, her character carries fear, emotional isolation, and the burden of protecting herself emotionally amid the chaos surrounding her.

Urvashi explained that what drew her to Poonam was the character’s restrained nature rather than dramatic emotional outbursts.

“She is not driven by loud emotions. Sometimes real strength lies in quietly enduring difficult situations while still staying emotionally strong,” the actress added.

The series stars Randeep Hooda in the lead role and is inspired by the life of UP super-cop Avinash Mishra. The first season of Inspector Avinash, directed by Neeraj Pathak, premiered in 2023 and featured actors including Amit Sial, Shalin Bhanot, Zakir Hussain, Bidita Bag and Rajneesh Duggal among others.

The show revolves around Avinash Mishra’s mission to tackle rising crime in Uttar Pradesh and was based on real-life events.

Urvashi made her Bollywood debut opposite Sunny Deol in the 2013 film Singh Saab the Great. She later appeared in films such as Sanam Re, Great Grand Masti, Hate Story 4 and Pagalpanti.

The actress recently gained major attention for her role in Daaku Maharaaj alongside Nandamuri Balakrishna. The film’s song Dabidi Dibidi became widely popular on social media for its viral dance steps.
