Mumbai: Alicia Silverstone is feeling overjoyed as her son Bear Blu Jarecki turns 15. The actress shared that being his mother has been the greatest gift of her life.
Best known for her role as Cher Horowitz in the 1995 teen comedy Clueless, Silverstone posted a series of photos capturing Bear’s journey from infancy to his teenage years.
In her heartfelt caption, she wrote: “It’s Bear’s birthday today. 15 years with this human… I can’t believe it. Being his mom has been the most incredible gift. I love my Bear so much. I’m so proud of who he is… and I’m the luckiest mama.”
Silverstone met Christopher Jarecki outside a theatre in 1997, and after nearly a decade of dating, the couple got married. They welcomed Bear in 2011. However, they separated in February 2018, filed for divorce three months later, and finalized it in November the same year.
On the professional front, Silverstone made her film debut with the thriller The Crush in 1993. She rose to fame as a teen icon after appearing in music videos for Aerosmith songs like Cryin’, Amazing, and Crazy.
In 1997, she played Batgirl in Batman & Robin. She also received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Television Series (Musical or Comedy) for her role in Miss Match.
The 49-year-old actress was last seen in the film A Merry Little Ex-Mas, directed by Steve Carr and written by Holly Hester. The film also stars Oliver Hudson, Jameela Jamil, and Pierson Fodé.
In April, Silverstone also shared a nostalgic “before selfie” picture with Liv Tyler, reminiscing about the days of disposable cameras. She wrote: “Before selfies, we had disposable cameras… and a whole lot of faith that at least one photo came out cute. Sweet little 90’s moment with Liv.”
As for Tyler, she began her career as a model before making her film debut in Silent Fall, and later appeared in films like Armageddon and Empire Records, among others.
