Deoghar: The process of selecting Zonal Chairpersons in the Deoghar Municipal Corporation was successfully completed under the leadership of Mayor Ravi Kumar Raut, in the presence of Municipal Commissioner Rohit Sinha. The elections were conducted smoothly and without any disruptions.
Each of the seven zones in the Municipal Corporation comprises five wards, and candidates who secured the support of at least three councillors were elected as Chairpersons.
Following the process, the selected Zonal Chairpersons are:
- Sandeep Kumar Vishwakarma (Zone 1)
- Manju Devi (Zone 2)
- Mrityunjay Kumar Raut (Zone 3)
- Kiran Kumari (Zone 4)
- Arpana Jha (Zone 5)
- Amaresh Kumar Jyoti (Zone 6)
- Pradeep Kumar Chaudhary (Zone 7)
These newly appointed Chairpersons will oversee development projects in their respective zones and work closely with residents to address civic issues. Officials believe that this decentralised approach will help speed up development work across wards.
Additionally, Mohammad Sarwar Sheikh and Anoj Kumar Rao have been chosen as members of the District Planning Committee.
The Municipal Corporation administration expressed confidence that this new structure will strengthen governance, improve implementation of development schemes, and ensure better delivery of civic services. The move is being seen as a significant step towards making local administration more efficient and responsive.
