TB-Free India Drive Reaches Ramgarh Jail, Health Camp and Portable X-Ray Facility Launched

Ramgarh: As part of the 100-day TB-Free India campaign, an Ayushman Arogya camp was organized at Upkara Ramgarh on April 6, 2026, bringing essential health services directly to inmates. The programme was inaugurated by Civil Surgeon Dr. Anil Kumar, who also launched a hand-held X-ray machine to strengthen on-site screening.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Kumar underlined that tuberculosis remains a contagious disease and warned that, without timely treatment, one patient can spread the infection to 10–15 people within a year. He reiterated that diagnosis and treatment for TB are available free of cost at all government health facilities.

He also spoke about patient support measures, noting that those undergoing TB treatment receive ₹1000 per month under the Nikshay Poshan Yojana through direct benefit transfer. In addition, nutritional support is being extended through food baskets with the help of Nikshay Mitras.
