Mumbai — Actress and model Poonam Pandey has cleared the air around her recent “pregnancy” post, confirming that it was nothing more than an April Fool’s Day prank that quickly went viral.
On March 31, Poonam had shared pictures on Instagram showing off what appeared to be a baby bump, sparking widespread speculation and congratulatory messages from fans. However, she later posted a video revealing the truth, thanking everyone for their wishes before clarifying that she isn’t actually pregnant.
In her message, she explained that the post was meant as a light-hearted prank for April 1. She added that with so much stress in the world, she simply wanted to entertain people and bring a smile to their faces. Staying true to her bold persona, she joked that surprising people is “her right” and encouraged everyone not to take life too seriously.
This isn’t the first time Poonam has stirred controversy with such stunts. In 2024, her team had announced her “death” due to Cervical cancer, only for her to later reveal it was a publicity move aimed at raising awareness — a claim that drew significant backlash.
Poonam first gained attention through her social media presence and bold content, later making headlines with her promise to strip for the Indian cricket team if they won the 2011 World Cup.
On the personal front, she married Sam Ahmed Bombay in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. The relationship soon turned turbulent, with Poonam filing serious allegations of assault against him. He was subsequently arrested, and the couple separated shortly after.
She was last seen on the reality show Lock Upp: Badass Jail, Atyaachari Khel!, hosted by Kangana Ranaut, where Munawar Faruqui emerged as the winner.
With this latest prank, Poonam once again managed to grab attention — though not without raising eyebrows.
