Karishma Tanna Reflects on Her Journey, Urges Fans to “Never Give Up on Yourself”

Mumbai- Actress Karishma Tanna has taken a heartfelt look back at her acting journey after being honoured for her performance in Scoop, directed by Hansal Mehta, at the Busan International Film Festival.

Recalling her beginnings on television, Karishma reflected on the doubts she faced early in her career and how she gradually transitioned from the small screen to reality shows, films and web series. She shared that Scoop served as a powerful reminder that perseverance eventually leads to recognition.

In an emotional social media post, the actress wrote about her evolution — from being typecast and questioned, to finally standing on an international platform. She described Scoop not just as a project, but as a turning point that reaffirmed her belief that consistent effort, growth and patience ultimately bring their own reward. Thanking audiences for their continued support, she said that when the right moment arrives, it feels like coming home.

Karishma also reflected on her younger self — a girl who waited patiently for her turn, sought independence and refused to stop believing despite being repeatedly labelled a “TV actor.” She emphasised that some journeys take longer because they are laying the foundation for something lasting.

Calling the recognition at Busan deeply personal, she said the achievement was years in the making and far from an overnight success. Expressing gratitude and pride, she added that she sees this phase not as an end, but as just the beginning of a new chapter. She also encouraged viewers to watch Scoop on Netflix.

Scoop is adapted from journalist Jigna Vora’s bestselling memoir Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison. Alongside Karishma in the lead role, the series features Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Harman Baweja, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Deven Bhojani in key roles.
