Ranchi: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has moved a Hazaribagh court seeking a warrant against Snigdha Singh, the prime accused in the illegal purchase and sale of forest land and irregular mutation during the tenure of IAS officer Vinay Choubey as Hazaribag Deputy Commissioner.
In its application submitted on Tuesday, the ACB stated that Snigdha Singh had been served three notices for questioning but failed to appear even once. She had earlier filed an anticipatory bail plea before the Hazaribagh ACB court, which was subsequently rejected.
Snigdha Singh is a named accused in ACB case number 11/2025. According to the agency, the disputed land is registered in the names of Vinay Singh and his wife Snigdha Singh. The property is located under Sadar Anchal, police station number 252, in Babhanwe mouza, halka number 11, Hazaribag.
The plots in question—khesra numbers 1055, 1060, and 848 under khata number 95, covering 28 decimals, and khesra number 812 under khata number 73, measuring 72 decimals—are under the couple’s possession. A showroom of Nexgen is currently being operated on the site.
The ACB maintains that the land transactions were carried out in violation of forest land regulations and mutation rules, prompting the agency to seek the warrant to proceed with further investigation.
