1280 apply for various posts in state Cong

Ranchi: A record number of 1280 candidates have filed nominations for various posts in Jharkhand Pradesh Congress through an app-based process. For the first time, such a large turnout has been seen, with workers from across districts showing interest in organizational roles. As per sources, 150 applications were filed for the president’s post, 275 for general secretary, and 170 for secretary.

General Secretary and party spokesperson Rakesh Sinha said the rising number of applicants reflects growing trust in Congress, with many eager to serve the organization. This initiative was launched under Jharkhand in-charge Raju, marking the first time applications were invited through a digital platform. Workers from all religions and communities have participated, and by the application deadline, 1280 nominations had been received.

The party expressed enthusiasm over the response, with discussions underway on whether to increase the number of posts to accommodate more aspirants. Currently, there are three posts for president and seven for general secretary. Final decisions on appointments rest with Raju and other senior leaders.
