Ranchi – Former Chief Minister Champai Soren was placed under house arrest today by the district administration. According to reports, Soren has been confined to his residence in Morhabadi. His personal secretary confirmed the house arrest to Reporter Post, although direct communication with Soren could not be established.
Meanwhile, the RIMS-2 construction site area has been turned into a high-security zone, with even media personnel denied entry. The administration has not yet issued any official statement on the matter.
On the political front, Congress General Secretary Rakesh Sinha launched a scathing attack on Champai Soren, stating that if any event is used as a pretext to disturb the law-and-order situation, administrative action is inevitable. However, BJP spokespersons refrained from making any immediate comments, saying that the state party president would address the media.
According to sources, today’s planned “ploughing program” was not allowed to take place.
