Ranchi: Forest Officers’ Wives Association (FOWA) organised a vibrant Sawan Mahotsav on Sunday at Palash Auditorium. The event was marked by colourful cultural performances, traditional attire and festive enthusiasm. Vishakha Verma was crowned as “Sawan Queen” of the evening.
The celebration began with a soulful Ganesh Vandana, followed by members enjoying the symbolic Sawan swings. Dance, music, and various fun-filled games added charm to the occasion. Adorned in traditional outfits and intricate mehendi designs, FOWA members created a vibrant and festive atmosphere.
Cultural performances were presented by FOWA members Leena Rastogi, Ranjana Samant, Seema Kumar, Ruchi Upadhyay, Ranu Shah, Poonam Ranjan, Sunandita Das, Rekha Rajpurohit, Vishakha Verma, Neema Lakhi, Priyanka Tripathi, Mahvish Fatima, Ramita Camboj and Shweta Chaudhary.
On the occasion, FOWA President Ranjana Samant said that Sawan is not only a symbol of greenery and seasonal change, but also a time that strengthens relationships and infuses life with joy.
The event saw the presence of FOWA office-bearers including President Ranjana Samant, Vice President Ruchi Upadhyay, Secretary Poonam Ranjan, Joint Secretary Sunandita Das, Treasurer Meenu Pandian, along with senior members Usha Sinha, Pramila Singh, Madhavi Chatterjee, Sudha Chaudhary, Sisily Jayaram, Usha Sharma, Leena Gupta, Rita Vijay, Deepti Natesh, Amita Banker, and many others.
