Electric shock kills tanker driver in Palamu, kin protest for compensation

Ranchi: A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday evening at the MVS Crusher Plant in Dhusruwa, located in the Pipra police station area of Palamu. Rajendra Yadav, the tanker driver, died after being electrocuted while filling diesel into a DG generator. Despite more than 17 hours passing since the accident, the body remains at the accident site as the family is protesting, demanding compensation and other assurances, refusing to allow the body to be moved.

According to reports, Rajendra Yadav was operating a mini diesel tanker at the plant. On Wednesday evening, while he was refueling the generator, he was electrocuted. Despite attempts by local workers and his family to take him to the hospital, he succumbed to the shock on the way. His body was then brought back to the plant premises and placed there.

The family of the deceased has stated that his death occurred during work, and therefore, they hold the plant operators responsible. They have demanded ₹15 lakh in compensation, monthly maintenance allowance for the deceased’s wife, and immediate financial assistance for the funeral. They have also requested the plant owner to be summoned to the site. Sub-Inspector Nakul Sharma of the Pipra Police confirmed the incident and stated that police are present at the site and are attempting to calm the situation, but no agreement has been reached yet.
