Ranchi: The Ranchi district administration will enforce strict restrictions around all UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination centres on May 25 to ensure a smooth and disciplined exam process.
The exam will take place at 48 centres across the district in two shifts — the first from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, and the second from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. To maintain law and order, prohibitory orders under Section 163 will be in effect from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM within a 200-metre radius of each exam centre.
Under these orders, gatherings of five or more people will not be allowed, except for government duties or funeral processions. Use of loudspeakers or any sound systems will be strictly prohibited. Carrying weapons, including sticks, batons, or traditional arms like bows and arrows, is banned. Additionally, no rallies, meetings, or public demonstrations will be permitted during this period.
Security has been heightened, and magistrates will be deployed at all centres to enforce the restrictions. The administration has appealed to the public to cooperate and help ensure the exam is conducted without disruption.
