‘Cyclothon and Selfie with Plant event to promote Green Environment in the City’ – RMC

Ranchi: World Environment Week from June 1 to June 5 began in the state capital with the launch of various activities throughout the city, an official from Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) said.

RMC is planning to invest ₹ 17.55 Lakh on the Five Day programme to create awareness for green mobility and healthy lifestyle among youths.

On June 3 Cyclothon will be organised early in the morning at Morhabadi Grounds in Ranchi.

‘Best From Waste’ recyclable event will also be part of a five-day environmental awareness programme, said RMC Official.

Self Help Group (SHG) and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO’s) will organise 20 Street Plays throughout different parts of the city.

RMC Official Joyti Kumar Singh Said, “Youths will get an awareness about the significance of the Environment”.

Mr. Singh added, “On this occasion, Short Videos and audio will be displayed at 20 LED (Light Emitting Diode) Screens in the state Capital.”

“Radio Stations including Prasar Bharati – Akashwani, Big 92.7 FM, Radio Kanchi, Radio Dhamal and Radio Dhoom are being instructed by the government to organise Environment related Quiz Questions and General Knowledge Campaign,” Said Joyti Singh.

On the Last Day of Five Day long Programme on June 5 will be marked with World Environment Day and ‘Selfie with a plant’ will be held to promote tree plantation in the city, Joyti Singh added.
