528 bottles of liquor seized in Giridih

Giridih : Navdiha Police has got a big success during anti-crime checking. Police have seized a total of 528 bottles of illegal foreign liquor being taken from Giridih to Bihar. 

DSP Mukesh Kumar Mahato said that Navdiha OP in-charge Radheshyam Pandey and Raghuvant Singh along with their team were conducting an investigation operation near Giridih check post of Bengabad Chatro main road.

A vehicle loaded with illegal foreign liquor was seized at this check post. While checking near the check post, a Tata Magic vehicle was coming from Bengabad.  Seeing the police, the driver stopped the vehicle at some distance.

The police became suspicious of this and started going near the vehicle to investigate.  Seeing the police coming towards the vehicle, the liquor smuggler fled. While the driver Sanjeet Kumar Mandal was caught. When investigation was done after reaching near the vehicle, a total of 528 bottles of McDowall’s half bottles were found in 22 boxes in a separate box under the floor. The liquor bottle has a duplicate sticker.

The arrested driver Sanjeet Kumar Mandal is a resident of Tilakdih of Bhelwa Valley police station area. While absconding liquor smuggler Saddam Hussain is a resident of Khariodih of Deori police station area. An FIR has been registered against the arrested driver, absconding mafia and vehicle owner.

Case number 432/23 was registered and driver Sanjeet Kumar Mandal was arrested under various sections of the Excise Act and sent to jail. Police is busy investigating. Bengabad Chatro main road is considered a safe zone for liquor smuggling. Because the border of Bihar is very close to the said route. Due to liquor ban in Bihar, smugglers bring liquor from Jharkhand and sell it at a higher price.
