Ranchi: The number of road accidents on National Highway in Giridih’s Bogodar police station area is continuously rising, with high speed and haste to cross the road causing many to lose their lives. On Tuesday, two people, including a woman, died in two separate accidents in the Bogodar area. Both incidents occurred while the victims were crossing the road. The police have taken the bodies into custody and handed them over to the families after post-mortem. The incidents caused an uproar in the victim’s families.
The first incident took place in HESLA around 5 AM when 50-year-old Asgar Khan was hit by a high-speed car. The car was so fast that Asgar Khan died on the spot. According to eyewitnesses, the car was heading towards Dhanbad, and the driver fled the scene after the accident.
The second accident occurred around 11 AM in the Ghanghri area. 80-year-old Subat Devi, a resident of Pokharia village, was on her way to her daughter’s house in Beko when she was hit by a speeding truck while crossing the road. She died instantly. The truck fled the scene, but the police managed to catch it near Kulgo Toll Plaza.
