1534 Dengue cases found in 2023 in Jharkhand

Ranchi. The increasing number of dengue patients in Jharkhand has broken the record in the last four years. The number of patients found so far this year has crossed one and a half thousand.

On Friday also 41 new dengue patients were found in the state. Of these, 19 patients were found from East Singhbhum alone. Apart from this, seven patients have been found in Chatra, five in Pakur, four in Dhanbad, three in Dumka, two in Simdega, and one in Hazaribagh. Since January this year, 1,534 dengue patients and 240 chikungunya patients have been found in the state. 

However, it is a matter of relief that there has been a slight decline in the daily cases of dengue this week. State Malaria Officer Dr. Virendra Kumar said that this disease is now decreasing in the state. Earlier daily cases were more than 50. Now fewer patients are being found and no case of Chikungunya was found on Friday.

According to government data, six patients have died due to dengue in the state this year. All these deaths occurred in East Singhbhum district. Let us tell you that in the government data itself, in recent years, either no patient had died or there was only one death. So far this year, dengue patients have been found in all the districts except six.

The districts where no patients were found include Godda, Gumla, Latehar, Palamu, Ramgarh and Jamtara. A maximum of 891 dengue patients have been found in East Singhbhum. At the same time, 202 patients have been found in Sahibganj and 109 in Seraikela Kharsawan. 

Talking about other districts, 69 in Ranchi, 51 in Dumka, 43 in Hazaribagh, 40 in Dhanbad, 27 in Deoghar, 19 in Giridih, 19 in Khunti, 16 in Pakur, 14 in Chatra, 06 in Lohardaga, 05 in Bokaro, So far, 01 patient has been found in Koderma and 01 in Garhwa.

So far this year, the highest number of Chikungunya patients have been found in Ranchi. So far 162 patients have been found in Ranchi, 56 in East Singhbhum, 10 in Deoghar, 08 in Godda, and 04 in Lohardaga.
