• Research is important for development: Raghubar

  • Ranchi, Mar 29: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that for
    development research was important and to change the tradition of
    spending less on research his government has taken steps for
    strengthening of the research institutions in the state.
  • Addressing the people during the Sarhul Milan event organised at the
    Ranchi University here he said that research can not only help to know
    about the past but can also help in making preparations for the
    He said that the state government would help such students who
    are willing to go to other states to undertake research work. He said
    that instructions have been also issued to Secretary Higher education
    fill in the vacant posts.
  • He said that dance and music are the identity of the culture of the
    people and the government will build Akhra in every village where
    people will not only able to protect their culture but also indulge in
    recreation arts and every year competition would be organised which
    would be later held at panchayat, block and district level. He said
    that the artists selected would be felicitate during the three day
    tribal cultural mela to be held in Morabadi. He said that events like
    these would help to spread the culture in the entir country, Mr Das
    said that people want to know about the culture, tradition, rituals,
    life style, dance and music of the tribals. He said that the research
    institution and three day tribal cultural mela can play a leading role
    in this. The mela will encourage tourism and foreign tourists would
    help get foreign exchange.
  • The Chief Minister said that the tribals have shed their blood for the
    development of the state. However even after 70 years of independence
    the condition of villages has not improved. He said that after coming
    to power his government has taken steps to improve the life of the

    said that there was no place for middle men in the state and asked the
    educated youth to give time to their villages and create awareness

    The Chief Minister said that festivals are the pillars of culture and
    act as a linking device. He urged the people to celebrate responsibly
    and said that festivals should be  celebrated in such a manner so that
