Guv advocates need for quality education in universities and colleges

Hazaribagh: Governor Draupadi Murmu said that in the era of competition it was important that quality education is provided in the universities and culture of performing at the top be developed.

Delivering her address on the 8th convocation ceremony of the Vinoba Bhave University here she said that students needed to establish coordination with latest trends in education and needed to remain aware regarding the changing parameters of the education sector.

She said that education and degree are without value if the students does not have the qualities of  morality, humanity, sensitivity and helping others and asked the students to use their skills and knowledge in the welfare of the society and work for the betterment of the weaker sections of the society.

She said that for all round development not only knowledge but there was also a need to have positive attitude and pointed that earning and standing on the feet is very important but interest of the nation should come first.

The governor also lauded the decision of the central and the state government to open a medical college under the authority of the university and said that tribal research center which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister will be a milestone in helping the people understand the tribal culture and identity and heaped praise on the varsity for running vocational and employment-generating courses.
