Mumbai — Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan added a dose of humour to his workout routine, revealing how his trainer has been relentlessly pushing him with “taanas” — which he jokingly compared to those from a mother-in-law.
Taking to Instagram Stories, the actor shared a video from the gym where he appeared shirtless, with his trainer standing beside him. Varun spoke about finishing a long day of shooting before heading straight to the gym to “smash” his workout.
With a comic twist, he suggested that people should find a trainer who doesn’t hold back. “When you shoot the whole day but you got to come to the gym to smash your workout,” he said in the clip.
He then quipped in Hindi that his trainer had gone beyond a typical “saas” when it comes to constant nagging. “Get yourself a trainer who gives you taanas… Isne mujhe itne taane diye jo mere saas ne mujhe aaj tak nahi diye… last one week se bas taane hi taane,” he joked.
Earlier, Varun had also shared a picture flaunting his washboard abs, holding dumbbells and looking into the mirror. He captioned it with a motivational note encouraging fitness at any age.
The actor will next be seen in the romantic-comedy Hain Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hain. The title is reportedly inspired by the song “Ishq Sona Hai” from the 1999 hit Biwi No.1, which starred Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Sushmita Sen.
Backed by Ramesh Taurani under the Tips Industries banner, the film also features Mrunal Thakur, Mouni Roy, Chunky Panday, Maniesh Paul, Jimmy Shergill, Rakesh Bedi, Ali Asgar, Kubbra Sait, Rohit Saraf, Rajeev Khandelwal and Sreeleela in key roles.
