Ramgarh: In a swift breakthrough, Ramgarh Police arrested truck driver Suvindra Yadav within 24 hours of a brutal rape and murder case reported in Basaal police station. The accused, a native of Sherghati in Bihar’s Gaya district, was nabbed around 1:10 AM on October 14 from Khalari (Ranchi) after a massive inter-district manhunt involving 15 police teams and analysis of over 200 CCTV footages.
The case, registered on October 12, 2025, was based on a complaint by Subodh Oraon, who alleged that an unknown truck driver had raped and murdered his 39-year-old wife, Anjali Gathi, before fleeing. An FIR was lodged under IPC sections 103(1)/64/66 (BNS) at Patratu (Bhadani Nagar) Police Station (Case No. 245/2025).
Speaking at a press briefing, SP Ajay Kumar said: “This was a heinous and sensitive case. We acted promptly and arrested the accused within 24 hours. There is no space for criminals in this district—jail is their only destination.”
The arrest was made under the leadership of SDPO Patratu Gaurav Goswami and SDPO Ramgarh Parmeshwar Prasad, with officers tracking the accused across multiple locations in Jharkhand and Bihar, including Ranchi, Hazaribagh, and Gaya.
