RMC Administrator inspects Madhukam area, directs redevelopment, cleanliness drive

Ranchi: RMC administrator Sushant Gaurav on Tuesday conducted an inspection of the Madhukam area and its pond, accompanied by several municipal officials. During the visit, he reviewed over 11 acres of municipal land, including residential plots, the vegetable market, public toilets, and vacant spaces. He instructed officials to prepare a new master plan for the area and expedite redevelopment plans.

Observing the poor condition of the Madhukam vegetable market, Gaurav directed that it be cleaned, organized, and properly laid out to ensure space for all vendors. Dustbins must be installed, daily cleaning conducted, and fixed stalls assigned for each vendor.

The administrator ordered the removal of illegal shops and encroachments, cleaning and repairing of blocked drains, and proper functioning of street lights. Officials were also instructed to take action against anyone illegally occupying municipal land. Deputy Administrator Gautam Prasad Sahu, municipal managers, engineers, and other staff were present during the inspection.

Ahead of the Chhath festival, the municipal corporation has started cleaning city ponds and ghats. At Madhukam pond, Gaurav directed the removal of silt and treatment of water with alum and bleaching powder to maintain cleanliness. He also instructed thorough cleaning of the pond steps and erection of barricades around the pond to ensure devotees’ safety.

Deputy Administrator Sahu inspected Ward 10 pond, directing construction of proper boundaries, regular cleaning, and maintenance of street lights. Several RMC officials and staff participated in the inspection.
