Ranchi: The city is all set to welcome devotees for Chhath, with city and district administrations working round the clock to ensure a smooth experience for worshippers and their families. Preparations have been extensive, with 73 lakes across 53 wards completely rejuvenated. To facilitate rituals, 36 locations now feature high-mast lights, 641 damaged streetlights have been repaired, and 87 generators deployed at 82 key points.
A total of 1,495 LED bulbs have been installed to brighten up ghats, 25 ghats have been freshly painted, and 16 had their steps repaired. To ensure convenience for devotees, 538 changing rooms have been set up. Alongside these, 63 artificial lakes have been constructed to allow locals to perform rituals closer to home.
All efforts were guided by government directives and supported by a large workforce. Around 1,000 sanitation workers, 53 ward supervisors, four zonal supervisors, engineers, and city managers worked tirelessly to complete preparations on schedule. Departmental ministers inspected the arrangements, while DC Manju Nath Bhajantri closely monitored progress. Under the leadership of Ranchi Municipal Commissioner Sushant Gaurav, the city’s Chhath ghats and lakes now gleam, ready to welcome devotees.
