President Droupadi Murmu to Visit Jharkhand, Attend Convocation Ceremonies at AIIMS and IIT-ISM

Ranchi, July 31 (IANS) – President Droupadi Murmu is set to visit Jharkhand for two days beginning Thursday. During her trip, she will participate in the inaugural convocation of AIIMS Deoghar and the 45th convocation of IIT-ISM Dhanbad.

As per Rashtrapati Bhavan, President Murmu will attend the AIIMS event on Thursday and travel to Dhanbad on Friday for the IIT-ISM ceremony, marking her as the second Indian President to do so after Pranab Mukherjee in 2014.

Extensive arrangements are in progress to ensure her visit is safe and successful. The President will likely be joined by Governor Santosh Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren during the events.

To secure the area, the Dhanbad airspace will be restricted from Thursday 10 a.m. to Friday 6 p.m. Drones, hot air balloons, and paragliders are strictly prohibited.

All top administrative and police personnel have had their leaves cancelled and are required to be on duty. Revised traffic rules have been issued; heavy vehicles will be restricted during the President’s scheduled movements.

The President was earlier supposed to visit on June 10, but the program was postponed.
