New Road Under PMGSY Transforms Life in Tetariya, Jharkhand

Hazaribagh — The construction of a pucca road under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) has brought a wave of relief and progress to Tetariya village in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district.

Once plagued by neglected roads that made travel unsafe and inconvenient, the village is now witnessing a remarkable turnaround. The road has not only linked Tetariya to the block office and hospitals but also eased connectivity for nearly half a dozen surrounding villages.

Villagers recall the hardships of the past. “Earlier, reaching hospitals was a nightmare, especially for patients and pregnant women. During the rains, the road became impassable. But today, life is normal again, and we can connect with the outside world without fear,” said resident Ravishankar Kumar.

Another villager, Ashish Soni, expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Thanks to PMGSY, Tetariya is no longer cut off. Travel time has reduced drastically, and difficulties have disappeared.”

Village head Anita Devi hailed the project as a milestone. “A good road was a long-pending demand. Now children, farmers, and women are the biggest beneficiaries. It has opened doors to education, healthcare, and trade,” she said.
