Mumbai – Actress Lucky Mehta, who plays the role of Suchitra in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, describes her character as “justified negative,” adding that her shades of grey stem from love rather than malice.
Talking about her character arc, Lucky shared, “Suchitra may appear negative, but her intentions are rooted in deep affection for her sister Noina. She is ready to go to any lengths to fulfill Noina’s desires, even if it means defying the family or overstepping limits. Now that Noina has fallen in love, Suchitra will manipulate situations to bring her closer to Mihir. This will lead to major conflicts between families, but for Suchitra, it’s all about her sister’s happiness.”
Reflecting on the role, Lucky admitted that she initially wanted to portray a positive character. “At first, I hoped to play someone positive on screen. But as I explored Suchitra’s layers, I realized she is what I’d call ‘justified negative.’ From her perspective, she isn’t evil — she’s simply obsessed with validating her sister’s feelings and securing her happiness. Her choices may not always be right, but they come from a protective sister’s instinct, something many can relate to.”
Through her performance, Lucky Mehta brings out the complexity of a character caught between right and wrong, driven by unconditional love. Viewers can expect emotional drama and gripping twists as Suchitra’s story progresses.
