Land dispute cases to be heard through court process, directs DC Ajay Nath Jha at Janata Darbar

Bokaro: In a move to ensure transparent and lawful resolution of rising land-related disputes, Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha has directed officials to formally open cases (wads) and place them before the court for hearing. The order came during the weekly Janata Darbar held at the Collectorate office on Tuesday, where the DC heard over 64 cases, many of which were resolved on the spot.

The event saw a large turnout from both urban and rural areas of the district, with citizens bringing forth issues primarily related to land encroachment, ownership conflicts, and grievances involving the supply, education, revenue, and social welfare departments. Applications were also received from areas like Chas, Bermo, Nawadih, and BSL.

Taking serious note of the volume and sensitivity of land disputes, the DC instructed Additional Collector Md. Mumtaz Ansari to initiate legal proceedings for every such case. “Land-related matters are often sensitive. Each application must go through due legal process to avoid arbitrary decisions or negligence,” he emphasized.

Officials from concerned departments were present to take immediate action. Applications were forwarded to relevant departments with clear directives for timely investigation and resolution.

Prominent among those present were DDC Shatabdi Majumdar, DPRO Ravi Kumar, Social Security Assistant Director Piyush, District Education Officer Jagarnath Lohra, District Superintendent of Education Atul Chaubey, District Supply Officer Shalini Khalkho, and Land Acquisition Officer Dwarika Baitah.

In line with DC’s directive, Janata Darbars were also held at all block and circle offices, where local BDOs and COs addressed cases that could be resolved at the ground level, ensuring quick relief to complainants.
