Ranchi – The monsoon session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly is scheduled to begin on Friday, August 1, and will continue through August 7. In preparation, Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahato convened an all-party meeting on Thursday to ensure the orderly conduct of proceedings.
The meeting was attended by key political leaders, including Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Leader of the Opposition Babulal Marandi. CM Soren stressed the need for meaningful, issue-based debate, emphasizing that the Assembly serves as a vital space for the expression of public sentiment. He assured that his government is prepared to engage with the opposition in a fact-based manner on all issues.
Speaker Mahato urged all members to uphold the dignity of the House and participate actively in scheduled deliberations. He noted that several important legislative and policy matters will be taken up during the session.
Meanwhile, Opposition leader Marandi voiced concern over the brief duration of the session, asserting that the state faces numerous critical issues that merit thorough debate. The BJP Legislature Party will meet Friday morning to finalize its strategy. Speaking to the media, Marandi criticized the state government for failing to deliver on its promises and ignoring public concerns.
The monsoon session is expected to see the tabling of several important bills, while the opposition prepares to question the government on various matters, including law and order, development initiatives, and governance.
