ICICI Bank Posts 15% Rise in Q1 Profit; Net Interest Income Grows Over 10%

New Delhi: ICICI Bank reported a consolidated net profit of ₹13,557.60 crore for the first quarter of the financial year 2025–26 (Q1 FY26), marking a 15% year-on-year (YoY) increase, the private sector lender announced in a regulatory filing on Saturday.

In comparison, the bank had reported a profit of ₹11,695.84 crore in the same quarter last year (Q1 FY25). On a sequential basis, the Q1 FY26 profit showed a marginal rise of ₹55 crore over ₹13,502.22 crore posted in Q4 FY25.

While the bank’s net income (income from operations) declined sequentially by over ₹5,000 crore to ₹74,576 crore from ₹79,747 crore in Q4 FY25, it saw a YoY increase of ₹7,306 crore from ₹67,270 crore in Q1 FY25.

Net interest income (NII) rose by 10.6% YoY to ₹21,635 crore in Q1 FY26, up from ₹19,553 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Interest earnings for the quarter stood at ₹49,079.96 crore, an increase of ₹693 crore over the previous quarter’s ₹48,386.92 crore and ₹4,498 crore higher than the ₹44,886 crore reported in Q1 FY25.

ICICI Bank’s advances climbed to ₹14.45 lakh crore in the quarter, compared to ₹14.20 lakh crore in the previous quarter and ₹13.03 lakh crore a year ago. Total assets increased significantly to ₹26.68 lakh crore in Q1 FY26 from ₹24.07 lakh crore in Q1 FY25.

Segment-wise revenue contribution showed retail banking leading with ₹40,458.10 crore, followed by wholesale banking at ₹21,450.76 crore, and treasury operations at ₹36,973.20 crore.

The bank’s total expenditure, excluding provisions and contingencies, stood at ₹53,259.22 crore—an increase of over ₹4,000 crore from ₹49,192 crore in the same quarter last year.

ICICI Bank also reported an improvement in asset quality. The gross non-performing asset (NPA) ratio improved to 1.67% as of June 30, 2025, compared to 2.15% a year ago. The net NPA ratio also slightly declined to 0.41% from 0.43% YoY.

Shares of ICICI Bank ended on a positive note on Friday, the last trading session of the week, closing at ₹1,425.80 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), up 0.50%.
