Mumbai – Actress Hunar Hali Gandhi is receiving widespread acclaim for her performance as Queen Kaikeyi in the mythological series Veer Hanuman.
In the show, Hunar brings to life a multifaceted character—portraying Kaikeyi not just as a queen, but as a fierce warrior, a devoted wife, and a deeply loving mother. Her commanding screen presence adds depth and grace to the role.
Speaking about her portrayal, Hunar shared, “I’m incredibly thankful to God for this opportunity. Kaikeyi is one of the most complex and powerful characters I’ve taken on in my 18-year career. She’s far more than the queen people think they know—she’s a fiery warrior, a passionate mother, and a woman whose choices are guided by profound love and a sense of duty.”
Reflecting on the challenges of the role, Hunar added, “It wasn’t an easy decision, especially with my daughter being so young. But when I heard the script narration, I was deeply moved—it was an instant yes for me. The shoot can be demanding, but the energy on set is fantastic. We support one another, laugh together, and constantly push each other to do better.”
She also shared that playing Kaikeyi has not only fulfilled her creatively but reminded her of the delicate balance between family and professional life.
Hunar has appeared in several popular television shows over the years, including Grihasti, 12/24 Karol Bagh, Sasural Genda Phool, Chhal – Sheh Aur Maat, Thapki Pyaar Ki, Patiala Babes, and Gauna – Ek Pratha, among others.
Joining her in Veer Hanuman are Mahir Pandhi as Bali and Sugreev, Arav Chowdharry as Kesari, Sayli Salunkhe as Anjani, and Aan Tiwari as Bal Hanuman.
Veer Hanuman airs Monday to Saturday at 7:30 PM on Sony SAB.
