Palamu: In a swift operation following a tip-off, four persons were arrested in Palamu’s Chhatarpur area for possession of weapons, live ammunition, and walkie-talkies. The action comes in connection with past robbery cases, including incidents at CSP Bank Saraydiha Mor and CSP Bank Sadma.
The arrests were made under the supervision of Superintendent of Police, Palamu, and directed by Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Chhatarpur. The special raid team, led by Chhatarpur police officials, apprehended the suspects after gathering intelligence that a group of criminals was planning a major robbery near the high school premises in Chhatarpur.
Recovered items include one country-made pistol, one revolver, two live bullets, a laptop stolen from CSP Bank Saraydiha Mor in 2024, a mobile phone looted from CSP Bank Sadma in August 2025, four other mobiles, one vehicle used in the Sadma bank robbery, and four walkie-talkies.
The arrested suspects are Ranjan Oraon (19) of Bhikhhi, Manjit Kumar (22) of Bhikhhi, Vikesh Kumar aka Vikas Kumar (19) of Arar, and Chhotu Kumar aka Sagar Raj (22) of Chhatarpur. Chhotu Kumar, alias Sagar Raj, has a prior criminal record including cases in Daltonganj, Chhatarpur, and Khalari police stations.
The raid team comprised Sub-Inspector Prashant Prasad, Sushil Oraon, SI Rajiv Kumar, SI Parmanand Pal, SI Rewa Shankar Rana, armed police personnel from Chhatarpur, and the technical branch of Palamu.
