Mumbai — Social media buzzed on Saturday after a playful post by stand-up comic and streamer Samay Raina reignited chatter around cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his ex-wife, influencer Dhanashree Verma.
Raina shared a screenshot of a video call with Chahal, captioning it: “Love you, my sugar daddy” along with laughing and kissing emojis. The post went viral, especially as it referenced a T-shirt worn by Chahal during his divorce hearings that read: “Be your own sugar daddy.”
Amid the trending post, Dhanashree appeared to share a cryptic response on her Instagram. Posting a picture of her pet dog, she wrote from its perspective: “Don’t worry guys, meri mumma ka acha samay hi chal raha hai” (Don’t worry guys, my mom is having a good time). The timing of her post led many to interpret it as a subtle reaction to the “sugar daddy” remark.
Chahal and Dhanashree, who tied the knot in December 2020, went through a highly publicized split less than three years later. Reports described the separation as contentious, with moments from their divorce proceedings repeatedly surfacing in the media.
The resurfacing of Chahal’s T-shirt in Samay’s post has further fuelled speculation online, with some suggesting the caption may have carried a mocking undertone.
Meanwhile, Dhanashree continues to stay active in the public eye, currently appearing in the reality series “Rise and Fall.” She has often opened up about the challenges she faced during her marriage and separation, keeping her followers engaged with both her personal reflections and professional work.
