Dhanashree Verma Opens Up on ‘Rise & Fall’: “Off Sugar, Off Labels, But Not Off Money”

Mumbai- The much-awaited first episode of Amazon MX Player’s reality show Rise & Fall has finally premiered, and contestant Dhanashree Verma instantly grabbed the spotlight with her bold remarks.

In a candid confession, Dhanashree revealed: “I think it’s time people should know that I do not like sugar, I have been off sugar. People have tagged me with a lot of names here and there. Logon ko kuch pata hi nahi hai mere baare mein.” She added unapologetically, “Paisa to bahut important hai, who doesn’t want money?”

Her statement appeared to subtly reference her ex-husband, cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, who once caught attention wearing a T-shirt with the slogan “Be Your Own Sugar Daddy” on the day of their divorce hearing.

Earlier, a behind-the-scenes video of Dhanashree in a playful banter with Nayandeep Rakshit surfaced online. When she teased, “Collaborating with me isn’t everyone’s cup of tea,” Nayandeep cheekily responded, “More than half of Bollywood has already collaborated with me; you should too, I will make you a star.” To this, Dhanashree retorted, “The queen doesn’t need to become a star. Besides, interviewers are already lining up. I’ve even shut down all the sports channels in the penthouse.”

Hosted by Ashneer Grover, Rise & Fall brings together 15 celebrities from diverse fields to compete in a game of power, privilege, and survival. Speaking about the format, Ashneer said: “Rise & Fall is one of the most captivating reality show concepts globally. The division of contestants into haves and have-nots adds a new dimension never seen before in Indian reality TV.”
