Ranchi: District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner, Manjunath Bhajantri, held a janata darbar on Monday at the collectorate conference hall where a large number of residents from different blocks of the district gathered to present their grievances. The majority of complaints were related to land disputes, pension issues, road construction, waterlogging, and other basic facilities.
Giving priority to applicants from remote areas, Bhajantri listened to the complaints block by block and instructed the concerned officials to take prompt and necessary action on each case. He assured the public that “where evidence is found, immediate action will be taken against guilty officers and staff.”
One of the notable cases involved Ashutosh Mahto from Sonahatu, whose bank account had been put on hold. Despite a court ruling in his favour in 2022, the bank had not processed the matter. The deputy commissioner spoke with the Lead District Manager (LDM) of Ranchi and directed them to resolve the issue quickly.
Several applicants also raised concerns about corruption and bribery in land-related matters. Responding firmly, Bhajantri stated that “proof of wrongdoing will lead to swift action against the responsible personnel.”
Complex revenue-related issues such as mutation, correction of land records, and compensation payments were also raised. The deputy commissioner reviewed documents thoroughly and guided applicants on necessary steps to ensure resolution.
In matters of social security, complaints about non-receipt of benefits under the Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana were presented. The deputy commissioner instructed the assistant director of social security to act immediately on these applications.
Bhajantri reiterated that resolving public concerns remains the top priority of the district administration. He emphasized that janata darbar serves as an effective platform to ensure justice and promised that every valid grievance will be addressed without delay.
