AT DC direction, Welfare Officer registers case against supplier for illegal withdrawal of funds

Ramgarh: Acting on the orders of the Deputy Commissioner, the District Welfare Officer, Siddharth Shankar Choudhary, has filed a case at Ramgarh police station against supplier Mohammad Amjad Hussain for allegedly withdrawing ₹24,81,600 from government funds under the Chief Minister Pashudhan Yojana through fraudulent means.

According to the complaint, during the 2023-24 financial year, a total of 358 beneficiaries were selected for schemes related to cattle, goat, poultry (backyard layer and broiler), and duck rearing in Ramgarh district. An approved fund of ₹94,37,700 was deposited in the designated IDBI Bank account to cover these beneficiaries. However, subsequent investigations revealed that Amjad Hussain had manipulated the official list of 98 duck-rearing beneficiaries, replacing the original entries with fabricated details and inflating the payable amounts to a total of ₹59,83,400.

The falsified documents included fake signatures purportedly of the District Welfare Officer and other officials. Using these forged records, Hussain transferred the government funds into his own account without proper verification from the bank authorities. When confronted, he returned ₹1,50,000 to the district welfare office, but has since remained uncontactable.
