Ranchi: Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Rabindranath Mahato held a high-level meeting with senior officials at his office at 11 am today to review preparations for the Assembly’s 25th anniversary (silver jubilee) foundation day celebrations and cultural events scheduled for 22 November 2025.
The main function will begin at 11 am in the Assembly premises, where tributes and honours will be extended to brave police personnel and soldiers from Jharkhand who were martyred on the border and in anti-Naxal operations, as well as to those who earned gallantry medals during peacetime.
Sportspersons from Jharkhand and individuals awarded Presidential honours for exceptional contributions in social fields will also be felicitated. The programme includes special recognition for all former Speakers and former MLAs of the Jharkhand Assembly.
A cultural evening will follow at 6 pm on the same day. Playback singer Roop Kumar Rathod, poet-comedian Dr Dinesh Bawra and comedian Ravindra Johnny will be the star performers. Local artistes Pramand Nanda, Mrinalini Akhori, Tom Murmu and Sumi Shreya will present folk songs and folk dances. During today’s meeting, the Speaker instructed departments to ensure seamless arrangements for guests, including accommodation, movement and overall coordination so the silver jubilee celebration can be conducted with grandeur.
The Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, senior officials of concerned departments and Ranchi district administration attended the review meeting.
