Ranchi: BJP president Nitin Nabin on Saturday expressed confidence that the party would strengthen its position in Jharkhand, drawing a parallel with its organisational efforts in West Bengal. He urged party workers to intensify grassroots mobilisation under what he called “Mission Jharkhand”.
Addressing a meeting of the BJP Jharkhand State Working Committee in Ranchi, Nabin said the party was committed to expanding its presence from the panchayat level to Parliament.
Referring to the party’s organisational efforts in West Bengal, he said BJP workers had worked tirelessly to build the party’s base there and that a similar effort was now needed in Jharkhand. He called on workers to accelerate outreach programmes and strengthen the party’s presence at the grassroots level.
Praise for Modi, Criticism of Opposition
Nabin praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, saying it had given a new direction to the BJP and the country while enhancing India’s standing internationally. He said the aspirations and trust of 1.4 billion Indians were placed in the Prime Minister.
He alleged that certain forces within India and elements operating from abroad were attempting to obstruct the country’s development. However, he maintained that people continued to support Modi’s leadership.
Targeting the Congress and other opposition parties, Nabin accused Rahul Gandhi and the Congress of creating disorder and undermining constitutional institutions.
He cited the Emergency and the imposition of President’s Rule in states as examples of what he described as the Congress’s past record on constitutional values. He also alleged that the party had governed in the interests of a single family rather than adhering to constitutional principles.
Nabin further accused Rahul Gandhi and the Congress of acting as a “toolkit” for anti-national and foreign forces. These remarks were part of his political criticism of the opposition.
Cites Bihar Voter List Revision
Referring to Bihar, Nabin said Congress leaders had alleged irregularities in the voter-list revision exercise but, according to him, had not filed claims or objections in any district.
Expressing regret that Jharkhand was not governed by the BJP, Nabin described the state as his birthplace and said he had spent a significant part of his life there.
He claimed that BJP workers had already taken to the streets and were determined to replace what he called an “oppressive system” with a BJP government focused on public welfare.
His address centred on strengthening the party’s organisation in Jharkhand, mobilising workers and preparing for its political push in the state.
