Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan briefly swapped the glamour of the film industry for the fields as he got hands-on with farming and shared glimpses of the experience with his fans.
Dhawan took to Instagram to post a series of pictures showing him planting rice and working with a shovel in the fields. Sharing the images, the actor simply captioned them, “Kheti shuru.”
The pictures offered fans a different glimpse of the actor, who appeared to be enjoying the hands-on agricultural work away from his usual film commitments.
On the work front, Dhawan was recently seen in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, a romantic comedy directed by his father, filmmaker David Dhawan. The film also features Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde in lead roles, along with Maniesh Paul, Chunky Panday, Jimmy Sheirgill and Mouni Roy.
The film follows Jass and Bani, whose marriage falls apart over disagreements about family planning. Jass later begins a new relationship abroad but finds himself caught up in unexpected secrets and complicated relationships.
Dhawan also appeared in Border 2, which was released on January 23. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film is set against the backdrop of the 1971 India-Pakistan war and is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with J.P. Dutta’s J.P. Films.
Dhawan began his career as an assistant director on Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan before making his acting debut with Student of the Year in 2012.
