Several Kanwariyas Injured After Bus Rams Into Truck in Koderma

Koderma: Several Kanwariyas were injured, some reportedly seriously, after a bus carrying pilgrims from Nepal collided with a truck on the Deoghar-Nawada main road in Koderma district early Friday morning.

The accident occurred near Pokhardia Mor under the Satgawan police station area. According to preliminary information, the Kanwariyas had travelled from Nepal to Deoghar around four days ago for the pilgrimage. After completing their visit, they began their return journey to Nepal in the same bus early Friday.

The bus was passing through Pokhardia Mor when it crashed into the rear of a truck travelling ahead. The impact was powerful enough to severely damage the front portion of the bus, leaving several passengers trapped inside.

The sound of the collision alerted nearby residents, who rushed to the accident site. Without waiting for the authorities, local people immediately began efforts to rescue the trapped passengers and assist those who had been injured.

Satgawan police reached the spot shortly after being informed about the accident and joined the rescue operation. Police personnel, assisted by local residents, worked for several hours to safely evacuate the Kanwariyas from the damaged bus.

The injured were subsequently taken for medical treatment. Police were also assessing the circumstances surrounding the collision and coordinating the rescue and relief efforts.

The accident caused disruption on the Deoghar-Nawada route for some time. The incident also underscores the importance of extra caution during early-morning road journeys, particularly when vehicles carrying large numbers of pilgrims are travelling long distances.
